Terms of Use

Agreement. By using the Study Nori website or mobile app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Study Nori.

The service. Study Nori provides beginner Japanese learning tools, including short web lessons, a content library, a waitlist, and a mobile app that turns photos of everyday objects into vocabulary stickers and related learning features.

Not a school. Lessons, blog posts, scan results, and other content are for general information and personal study only. They are not formal language instruction, academic credit, or a substitute for a teacher. Always use your own judgment about how you study.

Accounts. You may need an Apple or Google account to use the app. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure.

Subscriptions. Optional paid features may be offered through Apple In-App Purchase. Billing, renewal, and cancellation are handled by Apple according to your Apple ID settings. Restoring purchases uses Apple’s StoreKit. Unless required by law, fees are non-refundable except as Apple’s policies allow.

User content. You may upload photos, create stickers, and share content to a public feed. You retain rights you already have in your content, and you grant DarkHeart LLC a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate Study Nori (including AI analysis and sticker generation). Do not upload content you do not have the right to use.

UGC and safety. You agree not to post unlawful, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise harmful content. We may run automated safety checks on images. Other users may report or block content. We aim to review reports in a timely manner and may remove content or restrict accounts that violate these terms.

Waitlist. By submitting your email to the waitlist, you confirm that:

• You are at least 13 years old.
• The email you provide is yours (or you are authorized to use it).
• You consent to us storing that email and contacting you about Study Nori.

You may ask us to remove your email at any time via our contact form.

Acceptable use. You agree not to:

• Misuse the service, attempt unauthorized access, or interfere with its operation.
• Scrape, spam, or automate signups or scans in a way that harms the service or other users.
• Abuse free scan limits, forge purchase proofs, or circumvent subscription or safety systems.
• Use Study Nori for unlawful purposes.

Intellectual property. The Study Nori name, branding, site and app design, and original content are owned by DarkHeart LLC or our licensors. You may share links to our pages. You may not copy or republish substantial portions of the site or app for commercial use without permission.

Disclaimers. The website, app, and content are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service, or any particular learning outcome from using Study Nori.

Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, DarkHeart LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Study Nori.

Third-party services. Study Nori relies on services such as Apple, Google (including Firebase and sign-in), and AI providers. We are not responsible for their independent practices beyond how we use them to operate the product. External links on the website are provided for convenience.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where your local consumer protection laws require otherwise.

Changes. We may update these terms. Continued use of Study Nori after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
